Two time Academy Award-winning composer;
Broadway Tony nominee; Producer
During his career, Mr. Kasha has reached the top of every field that he has lent his talents to as a writer, producer, composer, motivational speaker and executive. For his critically acclaimed work in films, he has been awarded two Oscars and four Academy Award nominations. His first Academy Award for Best Song was for “The Morning After” from The Poseidon Adventure, his second “We May Never Love Like This Again” from The Towering Inferno. He has over thirty motion picture scores to his credit. In addition he has received two Tony nominations, two Grammy nominations, an Emmy, four Golden Globe nominations and the coveted People’s Choice award.
As a creative entertainment entrepreneur, Mr. Kasha has run private and public entertainment corporations. He is currently working on a musical entitled Rejoice, with composer/record producer David Foster. Between 1995 and 1998, he was President of The Family Channel Music Division. He was President of National General Records, and was the Co-Founder and Director of AFT-American Film Technologies. Currently, he heads his own production firm The Kasha Entertainment Company, which is a multi-faceted entertainment company.
Mr. Kasha has had additional success in the television arena producing several musicals and specials over the years. He was the head of A&R at CBS Records’ music publishing company and has enjoyed a very successful relationship with a variety of recording artists from Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin to Elvis Presley and Donna Summer. More recently, contemporary artists Eden’s Crush of WB’sPopstars and MTV’s 2-Gether have recorded his songs.
Mr. Kasha has traveled the country speaking at many universities and organizations.
He is currently on the board of Regent University in Virginia Beach.
