Martin Taylor has totally lost touch with his family. He has no clue who his teenage daughter's friends are, why his son only communicates with an electronic sign outside his bedroom door, or why his youngest child only watches faith TV. Convinced the family needs to reconnect, Martin surprises the wife and kids with a little experiment -- he locks them in their own home with no power, no heat, no running water, and absolutely no contact with the world outside! The sudden holiday "staycation" isn't what the Taylors had in mind for the weekend, but they'll have to team up to prove they can survive Dad's wacky mission. With a heartfelt message and some persistence, one little member of the family helps put their priorities back in the pews, because they'll need all the faith they have to get through this!
Here is a unique film about a man who decides to take charge of his family's lives! Martin Taylor decides to spend quality time with them, even if it means letting go of life's conveniences and contraptions for three days. He is determined to reconnect with his family, something he has let slip away over the years. So he plans a three-day test involving them.
The family resists this suggestion at first but they warm to the idea as the hours tick away and Taylor also finally finds a way to show his antagonistic older brother Sam that he is now grown up. Setting up booby traps that would make Kevin in "Home Alone" envious, Martin accomplishes his goal and gains his family's respect by doing so. We gladly award this interesting and family-friendly film our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages twelve plus. There are some sophisticated themes and some disrespect shown toward parents in the beginning. However, this film is about change and change does indeed occur. See this one soon!
