Synopsis:
When the proud and powerful King Saul disobeys God’s commands, God gives a young shepherd boy, David, the power to slay the Philistine giant named Goliath. The most unlikely candidate to become the chosen one of God, this young shepherd boy vindicates the Israelites on the battlefield against the Philistine army. A Bible favorite!

Dove Worldview:
One of the great things this thirty minute episode accomplishes is not just covering the story of David and Goliath, but of God appointing David the new king of Israel. The story has a lot of lighter moments that will cause young and old alike to giggle, as well as the heavier moments of the battle itself or of David killing the lion.

There was very little objectionable material in this episode. The scene when David kills the lion may be upsetting to some children and a little cartoon blood is shown. Goliath the giant is seen throwing some soldiers around and is big enough to be scary to some. However, this is briefly shown and we recommend this DVD and approve it for all ages.
