“For Richer or Poorer” is a solid movie which focuses on a contemporary couple that seems to be living the American dream, only to see it slip away due to the husband losing his job.
Rockmond Dunbar is terrific and convincing as Aubrey, financial expert and husband to Kya. Kya is used to living the way she wants to, buying expensive clothes and planning exotic vacations. However, Aubrey’s sudden loss of income places a terrible strain on the couple. Kya is soon deciding whether to move in with her parents or not and Aubrey feels as if his wife is flying the coop just when he needs her the most.
This movie features some humor thrown in for good measure and is nicely acted and written. We are happy to give this excellent story five Doves, our best rating, along with awarding it our Dove Seal for ages twelve plus, due to a few utterances of language. This is a story that couples can relate to while being entertained at the same time.
