Grand Prix: The Winning Tale

Alice’s father has a new wife, which means Alice has a new school—and a group of bothersome boys—to face. When she finds out that her biggest tormentor, Rick, is into go-kart racing, Alice decides to show him what she’s made of. With the help of her friends and a local mechanic, she transforms an old kart into a speed machine and takes to the track. But Rick doesn’t like the competition and soon Alice’s quest is about much more than racing—it’s about standing up for herself.

Dove Review

In today’s world you hear many stories about bullies in school. Alice has moved to a new school and encounters the bully, Rick, right away. This is a story that will teach children the right way to go about dealing with this topic. There are many lessons taught along the way and these will encourage kids to do what is right.

Not only does this film tell a story of go-cart safety but also it is about the importance of a person being good at anything one sets their mind to. The story gives parents many topics that can be discussed. Although I think this movie could be aimed more toward older kids, it is enjoyable for the entire family.

The Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages is awarded to this DVD.
