Dove Review

This is an awesome animated collection of Bible stories in two DVDs! It’s not surprising it is an award-winning set. Kids everywhere can enjoy six Old Testament heroes: Joseph, Moses, David, Elijah, Esther and Jeremiah. Then there are seven stories of New Testament heroes: five which cover Jesus and his ministry and one each for Paul and the Apostles.

The content is fairly mild, with the most intense being the following: Joseph’s brothers grab him and place him in a pit and a man hits another man with a rod and Moses retaliates and David brings down the giant Goliath. Also a spear is thrown at a few characters and Jesus is seen heading toward the money-changers with a whip but nothing else is seen. Also a thief robs a man and other non-graphic scenes include Peter defending Jesus and bringing a sword to a man’s ear. Jesus’ crucifixion and the stoning of Stephen are mentioned but not shown.

Your children will know more about such Bible heroes as Joseph and Moses and Jesus and Paul after viewing these programs. We are pleased to award this educational and well-made series our Dove “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages. What a great way to make Bible heroes come alive to your kids!
