Nicolas Cage once again takes on a supernatural theme and if you like seeing characters that are reckless, then he’s your man. The film begins with a scene of a bridge out of Hell and the supernatural elements continue. His character, Milton, has broken out of Hell in order to seek out revenge against another major character. Satan’s own henchman plays a part in the plot but the story includes a plot to sacrifice a baby and a character stating he’s the new messiah. Obviously the occult theme is heavy in this one. The word “disturbing” comes to mind. I will say that the car chases are well done and there is a lot of action in the movie.
A lot of things are flung at the audience, via the 3D effects, and sex is one of them. A couple pretty much has intercourse on screen as not much is left to the imagination and the movie includes male and female nudity. It’s safe to say that despite some good action sequences and a few characters who appreciate the sacredness of life, this movie is not family fare. In fact, you’ve heard the expression, “This one is not to be missed?” My advice is this: “This one should not be seen by a family seeking wholesome entertainment.” No Dove Seal for this one, folks.
