Dove Review

This 1985 TV version of the classic Oscar Wilde tale is an easy one to watch. Only 54 minutes long, the viewer will be amazed at how different the effects are in this film compared to those that are used today. One of many tales that are told is the one about a castle in England haunted by a ghost that was wrongly accused of killing his wife. Now this family of long lost relatives has come to live in the castle and Sir Simon is determined to get them to leave the estate. But the tides are turned and instead of the ghost leaving the Otis family help him.

This movie may frighten very young children but those ten and older may enjoy this cute fantasy tale. We award the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages to this engaging film.
