Mrs Lambert Remembers Love

No one could ask for a more loving grandmother than Lil. Widowed and still mourning the death of her son, Lil's last cherished reflection of the past is her grandson, Jared, of whom she has custody. Etta Crew of Social Services isn't convinced that love is enough. Suspecting that Lil's diminishing mental capacity could jeopardize Jared's upbringing, she works to place the boy with his greedy uncle. On Lil and Jared's side is Clifford, Lil's best friend and reluctant suitor. Fearing the inevitable, the protective Lil packs her bags, and with Jared in tow, heads toward unknown destinations and a hopeful future.

With limited funds and a lot of courage, Lil and Jared travel from city to city, from lost relatives to helpful strangers, and from motel to motel in search of a safe place to call home. However, as Lil's health begins to fail, young Jared suddenly finds himself in the role of caregiver. He has one destination in mind for himself and his grandmother: San Francisco, a city he's only read about and dreamed of. But when an accident leaves Lil hospitalized, she realizes their adventure is over. Waiting for them is Clifford, who has his own plans for making Lil and Jared's wishes for a happier life come true, and in turn becomes part of an inspiring transition for all of them at the journey's end.

Dove Review

Here is a dramatic story of the love of a grandmother for her grandson. To Lil, Jared is all she has left. Her only son is gone and her husband is gone too. Although Lil knows in her heart that her abilities to remember things are failing her she does not want to give up Jared and their life together. So they embark on an adventure that will change both their lives.

This movie will bring you to tears at times as you watch the love this Grandmother and grandson have for each other, plus the series of events which happen that make it obvious it is questionable as to who is taking care of who. We award the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and older to this wonderful story.
