A town comes together… to make a movie about a town coming together. This little town is called Kipling and they are putting their face on the map in a new and remarkable way. This is not the first time this little town has thrown convention to the wind either. Surly you remember the story of the Little Red Paper Clip. Yep, it was the the town Kipling that made the final trade to Kyle MacDonald- a historic town-owned home for a role in a Corbin Bernsen film. They held an “American Idol” style audition to find the future town star. The star was cast, the movie was made, but in the process Bernsen couldn’t help but fall in love with the quiet and honest town of Kipling. What happens next is something that you’ve never seen before – It’s called Rust, starring the little town of Kipling.
“Rust” paints the portrait of a small town in Canada that has just experienced a tragedy. A family has been consumed in a house fire and the town’s mentally challenged misfit has admitted to the arson – but did he do it? The audience will be surprised by some of the twists and turns.
“Rust” is the story of a town with faith and a home-town-hero who has returned after he walks out on his ministry because he has more questions than answers. Jimmy quickly gets involved as he tries to save his friend Travis from making the biggest mistake of his life.
The film is spiritually uplifting and clearly shows that God will not forsake you and that His promises will be fulfilled. Dove is pleased to award “Rust” our Dove Seal for ages 12 and over.
