Synopsis

The story is based on a Chinese birth mom who writes her daughter a letter explaining her love for her, reasons for her relinquishment, describes the beauty of scenic China and the Holidays, prays for, meaning hoping for but not certain of, her daughter’s adoption by a family from a foreign land and ends by using the moon as a mirror to envision each other’s faces in times of thinking of one another.

Dove Review

A wonderful story that can help parents of adopted children from China. Helping a child to understand how special they are and the love that was given for them to have a better life is sometimes difficult. This story may help with discussions regarding an adopted child. Many have questions regarding their birth parents, the country they were born in and the reasons for their adoption. This book is colorfully illustrated and a beautiful story, and we gladly award our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to it.
