This is a delightful short story! I could easily see this being published as a children’s book with illustrations and even made into an animated children’s TV show or short film. The idea is simple and yet strikingly original. The story works because of its simplicity and because it is a situation everyone can relate to, such as a Jack-O-Lantern contest. I read the story straight through and was interested to see what would happen next. We give this story five doves, the most we can give! We wish the family of the writer all the best. This is a suitable story for any age and we hope to review it again when it is in book or video form!
