Synopsis

When a strange intruder breaks into the home of eleven-year-old John Armstrong, he is sent to spend the summer with Grandma Rudy in the historic coastal town of Southport.

Things heat up for young John when he discovers a treasure map left behind by his deceased grandfather. With the help of an old sailor named Earl, and his new pals Rex and Stephanie, John and the gang of “Pirate Kids” set sail for the adventure of a lifetime. Is the map just a silly game, or could it truly lead to the long lost treasure of Blackbeard the Pirate?

Danger lurks behind every twist and turn, as John soon learns that pirates still exist! The Bretheren of the Coast, an ancient fraternity of pirates, are hot on their heels. The Pirate Kids must use their wits to unravel the mystery before time runs out and the legendary treasure falls in to the wrong hands.

Dove Review

This is a cute little mystery. The Pirate Kids have the adventure of their lives when clues are discovered by John that were left to him by his grandfather, a great children’s book writer. The story keeps you interested in where the clues will send the kids and the things that will happen to them. This story has its funny times and its serious side. I believe this will be scary for small children because of the pirates and the fighting, so parents should keep that in mind.
