Synopsis

When you are afraid you might choose the wrong words or actions to discipline your child, or you get the sense your child might listen better to someone else…let Tot take over! Tot is a lovable backyard squirrel (puppet) who sings his way into your child’s heart, and impresses upon them what is right and good. Tot appears at the push of the button in your child’s time of need – when they have made a mistake and need to learn what they did was wrong. Tot shows them what they did wrong, through live action demonstrations of the same misbehavior. Then, Tot contrasts it with demonstrations of better choices. Tot’s unique method of teaching through visual contrast helps your child draw a clearer line between what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior…and it works! Before concluding the time out, Tot always encourages your child to apologize; and, reminds them that they are good and simply made a mistake.

Dove Review

“Time Out Tot” is a very innovative and interesting approach to childcare. Sit your child in front of the TV when you put them on time out instead of in the corner so they can learn from this friendly squirrel that what they did was wrong, but they are still a good kid. I was very impressed with the way this video suggests to help your child learn how to do the right thing. I believe that it will work. It has someone (the squirrel) whom your child can relate to and will feel comfortable listening to.
