Synopsis

Matt Whitlock (Denzel Washington) is the chief of police in a small town in the Florida Keys in this crime thriller. Matt is having an affair with his former high-school sweetheart Ann Harrison (Sanaa Lathan), and he and his wife (Eva Mendes) are separated and on the verge of a divorce. Matt discovers that his lover is dying of cancer, and he borrows $400,000 of confiscated drug money from the evidence room and gives it to Anne for medical treatment. When Anne and her husband become double-homicide victims, the chief is left looking like the most likely suspect. Matt must try to unravel the crime and find those connected with it before his involvement is discovered by his own police force.

Dove Review

Out of Time illustrates how small wrongs can lead to serious consequences. Sexual content, violence and some bad language prevents Dove from awarding this film the Dove Family-Approved Seal.
