Synopsis

In this horror thriller, Jim (Cillian Murphy) wakes up from a coma in a deserted hospital in London. He finds two other survivors, Selena (Naomi Harris) and Mark (Noah Huntley), and learns that a virus began spreading to humans 28 days earlier through a bloody attack by enraged lab monkeys. When infected, the victim develops a bloodthirsty rage. It has spread throughout the United Kingdom and into other parts of the world. Jim and Selena join Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and his daughter Hannah (Megan Burns) who are heading to Manchester where they have heard there is help for the uninfected. They run into several “infected” along the way and come close to being killed. They finally make it to Manchester and discover that they have more to fear than the “infected.”
