Dove Review

This is a nicely made film and a good story. A horse is found in the desert, off the coast of Africa, and a boy named Alec takes to him. He is warned to stay away from the horse and not to domesticate him. The boy and his father travel toward America with the horse on board. After a storm at sea which the horse survives Alec begins to win him over.

A man named Harry (Mickey Rooney), a former jockey, comes into Alec’s life and he begins to train Alec to ride the horse, by now named The Black. Alec rides the horse in a big race and you will have to watch the film to find out how it concludes. This is a good one for the family, with no scenes being overly intense and we gladly award it our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal.
