Synopsis

Showtime Original Pictures For All Ages premieres “By Dawn’s Early Light” on 4/15/01 at 8:00 PM (ET/PT). In this coming-of-age story, an aging cowboy’s quest to reconcile his past pushes a reluctant grandson to embrace his future. The abrasive teenager has closed himself off from his family and after perpetrating a destructive act, the grandfather agrees to return him to his home in L.A., only he won’t be flying home. The two are going by horseback on the 800-mile journey from Colorado to the coastline of California.

Dove Review

A teen with attitude learns life lessons from his wise old grandpa. Not much new here, but it is well executed. The two have several adventures and the boy learns about character and doing something worthwhile. Positive messages abound, including a respect for God, flag and people. This film is approved for ages 12 and above.
