The Winter Stallion
Gwen Davies, a sixteen-year old orphan, has lived all her life on her grandfather’s farm in Wales. Her love for him and the magnificent horses they raise is her entire life. She is devastated by her grandfather’s death – to lose him and learn that she maybe forced to sell the farm. She is considered far too young to make her own decisions about her future. Under the terms of her grandfather’s will, those decisions lie in the hands of her Uncle Alan who hasn’t been home in twenty years.
It is perfectly clear to Gwen that Alan will sell the farm to Christopher Howard, a greedy property developer, who will do anything to buy it. She takes refuge in her work and in Mabon, the magnificent stallion that was her grandfather’s hope for the future, and now the sole love in young Gwen’s life. Will Gwen be able to keep the farm and the horses? Alan’s decision will be crucial not only for Gwen, but will also force him to come to terms with his tragic past.
