Three very different dates follow the same path to an upscale Chinese restaurant. What will their fortune be? The first couple, a cheerleader, Doug, and a geek, Heath, are on what seems to be their first and last date, a prom plan made only to upset this blonde beauty’s ex-boyfriend. The second couple, Carolyn and Dean, are in a long-time relationship that seems to be going well. What Carolyn doesn’t know is that her daughter, the cheerleader, is there as well. She is dying to watch Dean propose to her mother. The last couple are on their first date as well, but it seems to be going nowhere. The sister of the geek, Beth, and a member of her book club and radio personality, Trent, exchange very differing opinions on life, work and love. The restaurant employs the waiters to watch the couples and form specialized fortunes to lead them into the rest of the evening. They all find their fortunes and are led to the truth in their hearts.
