Airing on the PAX TV network in June (check your local listings), then coming to DVD in September, this film examines the question: is there really power in prayer? For thousands of years people the world over have accepted the idea of prayer based simply on faith. But can it be proven that such faith is justified? It further examines whether prayer has actually been known to overcome the whims of Mother Nature. Can it change the destiny of mankind and nations? And can prayer actually heal the sick?
This production is based in part on the books The Incredible Power of Prayer by David Balsiger, L.H.D, Conversation with God by Lloyd Ogilvie, D.D., Sacred Healing by C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D., The Healing Power of Faith by Harold Koenig, M.D., and The Faith Factor by Dale Matthews, M.D.
A well-conceived study that will add perception to your devotional life – it did mine. Prayer is based on faith, and according to biblical teaching, without faith it is impossible for us mortals to please God (Hebrews 11:6). When examining the “heroes” depicted in the Bible, it is easy to see their faults, their sins, and their humanness, but each of these men and women were made acceptable in God’s sight by their faith in Him. When they came to Him with their entreaties, they did so in faith. The people in each dramatic vignette recreated here also stepped out in faith.
In a recent Newsweek Poll, 87% said they believe God answers prayers. In another poll, 95% of the doctors surveyed said they believe prayer does help in the healing process. “The Miracle and Wonder of Prayer” asks hard questions, then backs up the answers with thorough scientific study indicating that there is power in faith. I believe viewing this tape will strengthen your walk with the Lord and give you a further desire to spend prayer time with our Creator.
