Synopsis

Based on Frank McCourt’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel about the membranes of a man’s childhood, growing up in poverty and ignorance in Ireland during the 1930s: “It was, of course, a miserable childhood: the happy childhood is hardly worth your while. Worse than the ordinary miserable childhood is the miserable Irish childhood, and worse yet is the miserable Irish Catholic childhood,” (Frank McCourt).
It is a story of a luckless family, with several of their children dying and a husband unable to provide for his family.

Profanity and obscenity throughout; sexual situations; much drinking, but it does not glorify alcohol; anti-religious sentiments; much cruelty; several deaths of children and relatives.
