Captains Courageous

Bratty millionaire orphan Harvey Cheyne, Jr. is about to find out privilege doesn't count for much on a busy fishing boat. Young Harvey is used to getting his way. That's what riches have bought for 14 spoiled years. But money doesn't talk where he's going. Traveling aboard an international cruise liner on his way to a prestigious British boarding school, Harvey tumbles overboard and is rescued by the crusty Captain Troop-a hardworking man of the sea who isn't the least bit impressed with the boy's wealth, attitude and untested work ethic. With no port in sight and three months worth of fish to catch, Harvey is given a choice: fish or fast. His decision won't change the course of the ship, but will change his life. Set sail on an exciting, heartwarming adventure the entire family will enjoy.

Dove Review

Based on the Novel by Rudyard Kipling, this is a story of one young man’s life changing adventure. Harvey is a spoiled young man with no parents, who died in an accident when he was a baby. Because he has always gotten his own way he has a very bad attitude against others whom he believes are below his stature and he tends to have a bullying effect.

He finds himself in a different world after he falls overboard from the ship he owns and is rescued by some fishermen. Finding himself in a situations that he cannot buy himself out of, he instead has to work his way to have passage aboard this fishing boat. Along the way he makes friends, learns how to fish and realizes the hard times that others sometime endure, while making changes in his own life.

This is a story of adventure and life changing experiences for one young boy. Due to some content that may be alarming to younger children we award this movie our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and older.
