There comes a time in each one of our lives when we ask, "what happens when we die?" Eddie Highes never have much thought to that question, butsoon he would be faced with the answer. "Great Awakening" peers through the eyes of Eddie Hughes (Mickey Sykes), a father and business executive who finds his life falling apart from the pressures of this world. With seemingly no place to turn, he tries to take his own life. But in the turns of his borderline, near death experience, he finds that there is more to life than what he once knew. His eyes are opened to the truth of Jesus Christ, as he struggles with the decisions that placed him at the point of no return. Some would call his experience a wake up call, others may refer to it as electrical responses in the recesses of his brain, Eddie would see his whole experience as a "Great Awakening".
