A Man Called Jon

Jon Terrell Carson loves to worship God, but his way of showing it is a bit "unconventional." A Man Called Jon is an endearing, light-hearted dramedy, with a fun, yet powerful message of unconditional love and acceptance that will have you reexamining how you look at others and what is truly "normal."

Dove Review

In this inspirational, faith-based film, A Man Called Jon, Jon Carson (Christian Heep) is a loving husband, father, and pastor…the latter with a little twist. He is inexplicably ridden with spasms that make him run and dance around his congregation. So what do you do with a problem like Pastor Jon? Send him to a new church.

The move at first disappoints his family, but in a short time, the community at the new church welcomes the Carsons so abundantly that, even with his quirks and oddities, any church should be a place of welcoming all sorts. The message the film has to offer is wonderful to behold and learn from.

Watching Jon’s spiritual journey unfold is uplifting, but the film belongs to its supporting cast, who give the film its dimension of warmth. Particular attention goes to Sharice Henry Chasi, who plays the character of Robyn at the new church, embodying hospitality and kindness in every frame she is in.

Dove is proud to award A Man Called Jon with approval for All Ages.
