Synopsis

Jamie, a typical teenage girl struggling to follow family rules, is about to have her world turned upside down. Family tragedy makes her parents’ divorce an impending reality as Jamie struggles to find her way through her guilt. “Two Steps From Hope” gives an honest look at family and adolescent life in the middle of difficult struggles. In the end, everyone is looking for hope. Jamie seems to be finding the hope she is missing in God, while her parents’ anger and dysfunction festers. In the end, each person will have to decide whether to find hope in God’s ever-present help, or to turn away in angry rebellion.

Dove Review

Michael Adams is a hardworking father and husband trying to take care of everything his family needs. His job is very time consuming and when he gets a promotion, it will take more of his time. But when an unexpected tragedy happens in the family, he closes the door to God because his wife Maria blames both him and their daughter Jamie. Michael has his own blame going on and is mad at God.

This is an inspirational story of loss, but most important is the message of God’s love through faith and hope. We all have things that happen in our lives making us angry with the Father for taking a loved one away through accident or illness. Even then, God still loves us. This is a story about faith, hope, and love; that although it may be difficult, we have to keep trusting in God and His plan. Like this movie shows us, we have to have faith and love in God, and He will give us hope.

This is a very moving story of forgiveness among ourselves and with God. We proudly award the Dove Faith Friendly Seal for ages 12+ to Two Steps From Hope.
