Synopsis

Katie Mayfield is now the mistress of Mayfield Manor, the estate passed down from her birth mother. In her new world, she finds solace in honoring her mother’s memory and being in love with Justin Wirth, the director of her foundation. Katie finds herself torn between two worlds and grieves for her plain Amish life. Unknown to Katie, Daniel Fisher, her lost love, makes a desperate attempt to find her. Does Katie choose her new life or the simple heritage she left behind? This is her great reckoning.

Dove Review

“The Reckoning” is a dramatic, romantic film about honoring your heritage, making choices, and following your own heart. Katie Leclerc is outstanding as Katherine Mayfield, formerly known as “Katie” Lapp when an Amish family raised her. She now has inherited her mother’s estate and works with a man named Justin, the director of her foundation, a man she has feelings for. She used to love Daniel Fisher, who she believes is dead. When Daniel unexpectedly returns, her emotions rise and fall. She is very angry with him at first but must decide whether to forgive him for not telling her sooner. Ultimately, she has to decide who she really is and who best completes her: Justin or Daniel?

We are pleased to award our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to this engaging film.
