Kennedy Blaine has just lost her father, and she has inherited the family’s ranch. So she finds herself traveling to the beloved ranch about which she has heard so many stories. When she arrives in Valentine, Neb., she contacts the accountant at the ranch, Smith Blaine, and discovers that he already has a buyer. Nevertheless, Kennedy decides to take some time and see the ranch for herself.

As she arrives at the ranch, she meets the manager, Derek, and his mother, who have been taking care of the place since her Grandfather Blaine passed away. Derek’s father taught him all about managing the beautiful place. Kennedy falls in love with the ranch and decides to stay and try to reconnect with her other grandfather on her mother’s side, who is still bitter and rude.
