Synopsis

Sam is a shy boy who is afraid of almost everything, from those strange shadows in his room at night to the small dog in his neighborhood. Everything just seems too scary for him! However, one day Sam meets Bernard, a polar bear who isn’t afraid of anything. Bernard takes Sam on an epic adventure and helps him lose his fear of flying and snowboarding, which allows him to face the biggest monster with humor!

Dove Review

Sam is a shy, young child with the same fears that many tots have at bedtime. When a dog takes his best friend, Nano the teddy bear, he is too frightened to get the bear back, but Santa gives him a necklace with some special magic.

The necklace takes Sam on an adventure, where he meets new friends and must face his fears. He meets Bernard, a polar bear, Lloyd and Eva, little penguins, and a Lizard named Zak. Sam faces his fears along the way and realizes that, in order to help his new friends, he has to be brave so he can return home.

“My Friend Bernard” is a charming animated story that will teach young children how to face their fears, be brave, help their friends and also not take others’ belongings without permission. It is a fun, entertaining film for the family. We are proud to award this with the Dove Family Approved Seal for all ages.
