Robbie gets into trouble with police while living with his grandmother, and his mother passed away years ago. So Grandma sends him to live with his aunt and uncle. He no sooner gets to town when he runs into a bully who harasses him for talking to his girl.
When his aunt and he are threatened with a knife, his aunt takes action. She has had martial arts training, and Robbie finds out that his uncle is a master of the martial arts school. There, he learns not only how to protect himself and others, but also that the training of marital arts includes lessons of discipline, confidence and respect that apply to every aspect of life. “The Martial Arts Kid” is a story about a boy who learns how to stand up for himself and protect others. It is a fun family movie that may spark conversations on bullying and protecting others without becoming a bully yourself. It is an entertaining film about good versus evil that may intrigue youngsters to join marital arts. We are proud to award “The Martial Arts Kid” the Dove Family Approved Seal for ages 12+, but with caution that the entire family could watch it, if not for some language and intense fighting scenes.
