Dove Review

Derick Bingham writes five letters to prominent people in history who impacted his life. The first is to Mrs. Everest, the nanny for Winston Spencer Churchill. Bingham recounts her life, laying out the influence she had on Winston’s life as he grew up. You will see beautiful landscapes and reenactments of her life. The next letter is to the C.S. Lewis, whose writings were destined to become among the most beloved children’s literature ever written. You will see first-hand the monuments and statues erected in Lewis’ honor, along with reenacted scenes of his journey from atheism to Christianity.

Then Bingham writes to Jane Guinness, who married into the family of the Guinness beer company. She lived a very hard life, losing both her husband and a child within a short time. She had the gift of prayer, and she was known as a prayer warrior through 12 generations of the Guinness family, some of whom you will meet in this film. Then he writes to Amy Carmichael, one person he would love to have met in person. Amy truly gave her life as a living sacrifice, following God’s calling to Japan and then India. She has written 37 books, giving God all the glory as she served Him for 55 years in India.

The last letter Bingham writes is to Dr. Billy Graham. He traces Dr. Graham’s steps from his first to his last crusade. You will meet members of his family as they speak openly about their father and husband and his message to open your heart to Jesus. You will certainly enjoy the history portrayed in this letter; the footage and interviews are extraordinary. We proudly give this the DVD the Dove “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages.
