Dove Review

“Samson and Gideon” contains two stories of Biblical heroes. In the first story, God helps Gideon and the Hebrews defeat the Midianites with an army of 300 men. The small army’s victory prove that God helped them. In the second story, Samson is raised as a Nazarite and is a tool for God against the Philistines, Israel’s dreaded enemy. Delilah tempts Samson, and although Samson strays from God, he returns and does more for God in his death than in his life.

We are pleased to award this film our Dove “Faith-Friendly” Seal for ages 12+. These two heroes of faith will inspire you!

For Gideon: Several battle scenes involving swords and spears, nothing graphic; dead horses lying on ground; men being whipped on backs with some stripes seen, but not gratuitous; two evil kings killed by sword, heard not shown. For Samson: spears going through men but not graphic; men killed with jawbone of donkey; man's face shows scars where eyes were removed; building stones fall on people.
