Dove Review

The Bedbugs have six legs and will love to have you in the Bedbug Gang! Their clever way of taking familiar tunes and teaching new songs is fun and catchy. The Bedbugs retell familiar Bible stories and will keep your child’s attention and keep them singing. Beautiful 3-D animation and fun games to teach eye coordination are included in each story. We award this DVD the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages.

Amazing Animals: Enjoy spectacular color animation as the Bedbugs take you through Biblical stories like “Daniel and the Lions Den,” teaching the importance of prayer, and “The Lost Sheep,” which incorporates a fun game to find missing sheep. Sing along with catchy songs that reinforce the story as the lyrics appear on the screen. “The Furriest Float” is about the donkey who gives Jesus a ride on Palm Sunday. Jesus rode a very humble donkey that day.

Bible Builders: Sparky and Buzzard tell three great Bible Stories. “The Triplets Towers” is the story of Babel with a lesson about God’s love. “House on a Rock” is about listening to Jesus’ love and knowing that only his love can give your life a solid foundation. “Through the Roof” is about Jesus preaching in a crowded building and healing a man who was lowered through the building’s roof: a story of faith, hope and love.

Big Boat of the Bible: In the “The Old Man and the Ark” viewers see Noah carefully load the animals two by two as he listens to God and builds a boat. “The Story of Jonah,” as told by the fish, follows Jonah’s journey as he learns to trust and listen to God. “The Beautiful Big Blue Sea” follows the Bedbugs as the Bedbug Boat heads out to sea. Thankfully, “Jesus Calms the Sea” amidst a storm and Jesus questions the Bedbugs’ fear as he protects them.

Christmas Show: The Bedbugs tell “The Story of Mary’s Surprise” and how an angel appears to tell Mary the Lord is pleased with her, and she will have a child. “Follow the Star” continues the story of the three wisemen. In “The Shepherds of Bethlehem” another angel appears to send the wisemen on their way. After they meet Jesus they share the happy news—Christ is born at last!

Creation Celebration: A “Celebration” is a party, and the Bedbugs are celebrating creation! The Bedbugs give a detailed account of each day of creation. Viewers meet Adam and Eve and hear their story of sin in the Garden of Eden. The lesson of forgiveness shines clearly with the reminder that Jesus died to save us from our sins.

Dandy Dreams: Tells the story of Joseph. As Joseph shares his dream with his brothers the story unravels. His brothers sell him into slavery and he ends up in prison. Then Pharaoh shares his dreams with Joseph, and Joseph trusts God to help him interpret Pharaoh’s dreams. In the end, all the dreams come true. As the drought affects Egypt, Joseph’s brothers get a lesson in forgiveness and get their brother back. God looks after the brothers just as Jesus looks after us.

Easter Party: Learn about Palm Sunday and the meaning of “Hosanna.” In the story “An Easter Surprise,” Mary was lonely after Jesus’ death but finds an empty tomb. Once she sees Jesus is alive, she spreads the good news. “The Jolly-Jelly Bean Factory” is a story about teamwork. The last story on this DVD is “Doubting Thomas.” Thomas was sad that Jesus died, but his friends tell him that he is alive! Thomas does not trust his friends, but once Jesus comes to see him Thomas knows he is alive!
