“The Richard Wurmbrand Story” is the amazing account of a man who stood for his faith no matter the cost. It was Richard Wurmbrand who made this statement: “A faith that can be destroyed by suffering is not faith.”
Richard stands for Christ during the time when Communism came to his home country of Romania. There were those in 1948 who were sold out for Christ, and those who were not. Richard leaves no room for doubt as to which side he is on. When Richard speaks up against the godless beliefs of Communism, he is eventually imprisoned and tortured. His wife, Sabina, is taken to the Danube Canal and forced to do hard labor. He is lied to about his son Michael, told that Michael has turned to Communism.
Richard forgives the soldier who has beaten and been cruel to him, much to the soldier’s amazement. This story is about God being with us when we suffer, and Richard Wurmbrand is a shining example of coming through suffering and hardship while retaining his faith in God. He is put into a death room for those with TB and is expected to expire at any time, but he fools them all and lives! We are pleased to award this film our “Faith-Friendly” Seal for ages twelve plus. This dramatic animated feature drives home this lesson: God is always with us, no matter what.
