The Golden Honeymoon

Charles Tate (James Whitmore) is an old windbag and often a braggart, but somehow always lovable. Married over fifty years to his ever-patient wife Lucy (Teresa Wright), the two of them are on their Golden Anniversary honeymoon in Florida. Everything goes perfectly...until Lucy meets her former fiancée who is vacationing with his wife. Suddenly there's a comic competition between Charley and the old boyfriend for Lucy's attention. After fifty years, cantankerous Charley has to win his girl all over again!

Dove Review

Charley and Lucy are celebrating fifty years of marriage with a trip to Florida. Fifty years is a long time for many marriages today, but this classic tale also talks about true love. Even after being married all those years, sometimes jealously can raise its ugly head.

Love can overcome anything if you believe in each other and in your love. Here is a charming classic that reveals the power to overcome any problem in marriage no matter how long the marriage. The Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 plus is awarded to Ring Lardner’s “The Golden Honeymoon.”
