Titans of P.S. 271
For many of us, middle school was tough. We were just trying to fit in, make friends and figure out the balance between being a kid and an adult. It’s no different for Sam, our main character. A bit of an outsider, she thinks that if she wins the school’s annual Paper Football competition all her problems will be solved. With help from her two best friends Tyler and Kathy, she’ll face the school bully, Ricky. Throughout her journey, her faith grows with some guidance from the school’s custodian and her friends. She also learns that hurt people, hurt people.
Children in middle school have a hard time adjusting if they don’t fit the popularity mold. They may deal with bullying, are told they aren’t liked, face situations at home and just have tough times if they are different from others.“Titans of P.S. 271” is such a story. It is the tale of Sam and her friends Tyler and Kathy as they prepare for the annual Paper Football competition. The biggest challenge is Ricky, the bully of the school who has won two years in a row. But there is another challenge as well, one that Sam needs to practice: sharing her faith in God not just with her friends but with everyone. To do so she must open her eyes to what is really going on around her, and realize that being popular is not always what it seems. This is an entertaining movie about believing in Christ and sharing His message with those around you no matter where you are. The entire family will love the comedy, the encouragement to share one’s faith, and having Christ open your heart. The film also explores how to look at others the way Jesus would, and that no one should fear anything if they have Christ in their life. We are proud to award “Titans of P.S. 271” with the Dove “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages.
