Dove Review

“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” is hilarious fun! There are several laugh-out-loud moments in the movie, which is as good as the original and brings this trilogy to an appropriately humorous conclusion.

The magic is about to be lost and once Larry (Ben Stiller) learns why, he is off to England to take care of the problem. His visit to the British Museum opens up all sorts of opportunities for new adventures and, indeed, a dashing character is introduced: Sir Lancelot (Dan Stevens). In addition to this character, a new Neanderthal is featured and he looks a lot like Larry! His facial expressions and reactions to Larry’s conversation is side-splitting. Patrick Gallagher is also hilarious as Attila the Hun. When Larry learns Regis Philbin is at a show the museum puts on with all of its characters, he mentions Regis’ name. Attila’s attempt at seeing “Regis” has to be seen and heard to be appreciated.

This film, sadly, features the last appearances of Robin Williams, who died shortly after filming, and Mickey Rooney. Despite this note of sadness, both Mickey and Robin are at their bests in this imaginative and funny movie. This one gets five Doves from us, our highest rating. We give it our “Family-Approved” seal for ages 12 plus.
