Dove Review

Polka-Dot and her mom read “Huckleberry Finn” every night; this young girl, like Huck, has a mind of her own. When she gets an idea she goes for it. When Polka-Dot meets K9 officer Coop and his dog Luey, she takes it upon herself to become Luey’s groomer. She also starts what she calls “Cop for Kids,” an unofficial group she loves.

Little does Officer Coop know that Polka-Dot’s mom is in the hospital and very ill. The two interact because of Luey. Polka-Dot is a little girl who has grown up before her time and Officer Coop is an adult who has not really faced being responsible yet. Together they discover things about themselves and help each other, along with Luey, after Coop gets a call he never expected.

Losing a loved one is never easy for anyone, let alone a young child. This is a heartwarming tale that will bring tears to everyone’s eyes. It’s an entertaining and inspiring story.

We are proud to award “A Girl’s Best Friend” with the Dove Family Approved Seal for all ages.
