Three longtime girlfriends have the weddings of their dreams a few short weeks apart. Newlywed bliss, however, is short lived when bumps in the road and the adjustments of making a life with another person cause each of the girls to wonder if they did the right thing when they said “I do.”
Several weeks after the nuptials, letters arrive from the local courthouse informing the recent brides they are not married at all. When they find out the priest who presided over the ceremonies had neglected to file several important documents, they are faced with impending marital disaster. Initially the trio of pals are afraid to tell their husbands because they worry the men will walk away with nary a glance behind them. But soon they begin to wonder if being married is right for them as well. “Nearlyweds” takes a few unexpected and hilarious twists as the three friends have the opportunity to entertain a second chance at the altar. Parents are advised to be aware of several lightly veiled crude references between the married couples, as well as one instance of wine being consumed within a social setting. The story, however, encourages the marital values of trust, faithfulness, communication and respect, as well as a tenacity to fight for what matters most in love. We are happy to give the Dove Family Approved Seal for ages 12 and up.
