The Dove Foundation has forged an alliance with iBelieve.com, a new Christian Internet site being launched by Family Christian Stores, the nation’s largest Christian retailer, also based in Grand Rapids.
iBelieve.com seeks to be an all-encompassing website for Christians and will deal with a broad range of topics including parenting, financial matters, educational issues and now, with The Dove Foundation, entertainment.
Dove will bring its "family-friendly" movie and video reviews and information on the entertainment industry to the new site as part of its own goal to educate the consumer about the variety of entertainment choices flooding the marketplace.
"I am delighted to be a part of this exciting new Internet venture," said Dick Rolfe, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Dove Foundation. "Opportunities like this will help position us as a resource for individuals and families who wish to know what kind of entertainment they and their children are being exposed to. It will enable us to present reliable information which, in turn, will help prepare parents to make wise entertainment choices."
"Entertainment is part of a Christian’s life and Dove’s understanding and insights about that area will speak to a large segment of our culture," said Jef Fite, President of iBelieve.com. "We are thrilled to be involved with such a well-respected company that shares our vision."
Dove is one of several alliance partners that will provide original and proprietary content for use by iBelieve.com subscribers.
THE DOVE FOUNDATION is a national, non-profit organization established to encourage and promote the creation, production and distribution of wholesome family entertainment. The Foundation has awarded the nationally recognized DOVE FAMILY-APPROVED SEAL to more than 3,000 movies and videos deemed “family-friendly” by its film review board. Earlier this year, DOVE released the results of a ten-year study which identifies the gross profits of feature films by each MPAA ratings category. The Study conclusions show returns from G-rated films were eight times higher than their R-rated counterparts. The goal of the Film Profitability Study is to encourage studio executives to undertake more family-sensitive projects which will reap the greatest financial and social returns.
