As the popular song goes, “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.”  And that means plenty of time for welcome reunions with family and friends, exchanging gifts, and taking time to enjoy some good food and wholesome family entertainment. What this season does not mean, however, are movies in the theater depicting the true meaning of Christmas. No Nativity stories or Christmas allegories. In fact, no Bible-based movies at all in this year’s current releases!

Several family movies now in theaters approach the subject of Christmas from the broader worldview of, “peace on earth – good will toward men.”  Four feel-good movies that received the Dove Family Approved Seal are:

Television networks occasionally tip their hats to the season by scheduling wholesome, family-oriented Christmas Holiday movies – again not Christmas stories.  ION Television is currently airing a string of Christmas Holiday-themed films that deal with the “spirit” of the season in the broadest sense. And, The Dove Foundation has approved many of them. These titles are also available on DVD.

GMC-TV is airing a movie that reminds us of the things that are truly important in their dramatic original movie (soon available on DVD):
