President, Inkling Entertainment

Micheal Flaherty is the President of Inkling Entertainment, a new production company he co-founded with his big brother Chip.  Inkling’s initial projects are The Great Gilly Hopkins, starring Glen Close, Octavia Spencer, and Kathy Bates, and Happy Mother’s Day, starring Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson.  Before starting Inkling, Flaherty worked with his brother Chip at Walden Media for fifteen years, a company they co-founded with Philip Anschutz and Cary Granat.  During their time there, Walden produced a number of critically and commercially successful film adaptations including The Chronicles of Narnia, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Bridge to Teribithea, Holes, Charlotte’s Web, The Giver, and Because of Winn Dixie.  Walden also produced the William Wilberforce biopic Amazing Grace, and the education reform documentary Waiting for Superman. Flaherty serves on the advisory boards for The Salvation Army and the Templeton Foundation, and his writing has been published in The Wall Street Journal and The Deseret News.  He lives in Boston with his wife Kelly, a teacher, and their three children – Christian, Eileen and Reagan.
