The success of the Dove Family Film Festival is an indication that audiences across the country are craving family films. Industry leaders are saying that people are looking for movies that make them feel better - they want to be uplifted. according to Paul Kagan Associates, a PG-rated movie is three times more likely to reach $100 million at the box-office than an R title.
To help meet this pent up demand for family fare, The Dove Foundation is continuing to hold Family Film Festivals in various markets around the country.
The festivals highlight one family-friendly, Dove approved film per week for either four or eight weeks. The films are shown at matinees (noon - 6:00 PM.) seven days a week. Adults pay a reduced admission and children 12 and under get in FREE. The most recent Dove Family Film Festival held in western Michigan attracted over 65,000 people.
